About the role
As one of our four Housing Officers, you’ll be the main point of contact for around 350 tenants across a defined patch within our four neighbourhoods. You’ll know the closes, the families, and the local issues, and you’ll be the person tenants come to first when something needs sorting.
The role mixes office work, home visits, neighbourhood walkabouts, and partnership working with the police, social work, and community groups. No two weeks look the same.
What you’ll be doing
- Managing the day-to-day tenancies of your patch, from new sign-ups to ending tenancies
- Conducting estate inspections and addressing issues that arise
- Working with tenants who are struggling, including with rent arrears, anti-social behaviour, and welfare concerns
- Coordinating with our repairs team to make sure homes are properly maintained
- Liaising with the police, social work, support services, and community organisations
- Contributing to wider housing management projects and community initiatives
What we’re looking for
Most importantly, someone who likes people, listens well, and works tenaciously to sort things out. The role suits someone who finds reward in difficult conversations rather than avoiding them.
- Essential: experience in housing management, advice work, or a closely related role
- Essential: a CIH Level 3 qualification (or willingness to work towards it within your first 18 months)
- Essential: full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
- Desirable: experience working with Scottish housing legislation
- Desirable: familiarity with one or more of our neighbourhoods
What we offer
EVH-aligned terms and conditions including:
- Defined-benefit pension (employer contribution 18.7%)
- 35-hour working week with flexible and hybrid arrangements
- Generous annual leave (35 days plus public holidays)
- Health cash plan
- Genuine investment in professional development — including funding your CIH qualification
- The chance to do meaningful work in the place you live, with a team that cares
