It can feel difficult to ask for help, but rent arrears are one of the most common things we work through with tenants. You’re not alone, and getting in touch is always the right first step.
Talk to us as soon as you can
Even if you can’t make a full payment, getting in touch lets us put a sensible plan in place. We won’t judge, and nothing we discuss is shared outside of who needs to know.
What we can help with
Our team works alongside Glasgow Council and local advice services to make sure tenants get the help they’re entitled to. Depending on your situation, that can include:
- Affordable payment plans — we’ll work with you to agree what you can actually manage week to week.
- Benefits checks — we’ll make sure you’re claiming everything you’re entitled to, including discretionary housing payments.
- Budgeting support — practical help making your money go further across the month.
- Referrals to specialist services — debt charities, food banks, energy support, and money advice partners.
How to get started
You can speak to our money advice team in whichever way feels easiest:
- Call us on 0141 880 4006, Monday to Friday between 9am and 5pm.
- Email advice@rosehillhousing.co.uk and we’ll get back to you within one working day.
- Drop into our office at 250 Peat Road, where someone can sit down with you in private.
- Ask any member of our housing team to refer you, and they’ll arrange a callback at a time that suits.
What happens next
Once you’ve been in touch, we’ll arrange a confidential conversation, either in person, on the phone, or by video call. There’s no judgement and no paperwork to bring along — we’ll talk you through what we need.
Together we’ll look at what you’re paying, what you’re receiving, and what would help. From that we agree a plan that works for your circumstances. We review the plan regularly to make sure it still fits.
When I lost my job, I thought I’d lose my home too. The team at Rosehill helped me sort things out before they got that far.

Arrears that aren’t addressed get harder to fix
If we don’t hear from you and arrears build up, the next steps become more formal — including, eventually, court action. We never want it to get that far, and almost always it doesn’t. Getting in touch early is what makes the difference.
Whatever you’re dealing with, get in touch and we’ll take it from there.
